Breathe More Life

 In Frequently Asked Questions

There’s something about sunny summer afternoons that throw me full force deep into my head.  It’s a strange unsettled place to be. On one hand I’m utterly appreciative of the sunshine, the breeze, the flowers and activity around me – on the other hand, I feel sad, because it feels like it’s just a fleeting moment. A moment where, someplace in my introverted mind feels that I was the only one who saw it and that it will be gone in a blink of an eye soon enough only to be replaced with thoughts of paying bills, planning the week, setting meetings , taking care of family and heavens knows trying to find time for some fitness and fun.

kids-playing-outsideHow do you re-charge your batteries? Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a way where they charged themselves? I didn’t know it for a long time, but I need alone time – and a lot of it to re-charge. Even as a kid, I’d take off into the woods with my backpack with water, snacks, coloring books and my dog and just find a spot to stare at the clouds while the rest of the family went about their business. I’ve been riding out to our local beaches to watch the sun set, or taking walks after dark along the canal. I love  that my friends and family invite me out to this and that, and I do go – but those activities do not charge my batteries. They bring joy, but at a small cost. However you prefer, I encourage you to take the opportunity to breathe more life and re-charge your batteries just a little each day. Slow down, mind your needs and do what you need to do. It’s what’s needed for you and everyone you support.

Tonight, I sit on my sister in law’s back deck (I’m animal sitting) with a drink and putting the finishing touches on the fall programming at UpRise Fit. I think you will be pleased with our fall programming and balanced  approach to fitness, family and breathing as much life in as we can with each and every breath!

P.S. Did you know you can try our noon-hour yoga for FREE this week and next?? That’ll recharge you!

-Over and out, Meg
