Part of the Team
Big things are rarely ever achieved alone or in complete isolation. Often there is friend, loved one, professional on the side lines providing support, guidance or an ear along the way. Human evolution is largely co-dependent on the formation of roles, community structures, and social intricacies. In the times of our grandmothers, and even our own mothers, women looked to other women for support in raising their families, staying nourished and looking after the tasks that promoted community health.
We don’t do that anymore. We raise our kids in our own family pods, cook our own meals, do our own laundry, buy our own food. Even within our familial units, we often do not have the help and support needed to thrive. Getting fit and healthy also seems to have become a solo endeavor for many. Popping on the headphones and slugging ourselves to the gym to get in some squats, or jumping into a class where even the instructor does not know our names. It’s become a chore, another task on our endless to-do list.
It does not have to be that way. Build your team, expand your tribe. Lend a hand…we all win. That’s the idea behind our ‘Lean-on-Me’ Women’s Only Strength Program. The idea of community, of supports, of friendship, of alignment of healthful values, of choosing to become STRONG together. To share triumph and frustration, tips and tricks. 2015 we started this ‘buzz’ and are happy to get the ball rolling once again in 2016.
