New Year’s Resolve or Dissolve?

It’s that time again. New Year’s is just around the corner, and so are unreasonable resolutions. We tend to come up with many goals to achieve, and expect perfection in achieving it. I liken the New Year’s resolution to the, “I’ll start on Monday,” mentality. Don’t wait until New Years to start a resolution/goal, start right now.

blogDecide what it is you want to work on and be kind to yourself. For example, if you haven’t been coming to class, and you decide in the new year to start coming 3 times per week. While that is a great idea, it may not be realistic. Perhaps you have a time-consuming schedule and can only truly make it twice a week. Then come twice a week. Book a session for personal training and get an individualized program to help you reach your goals. It’s important you are realistic about what you can manage, that way you can achieve your goals and then work on adding incremental goals to your initial plan. If you aren’t sure about how to do this, talk to one of our trainers, they great insight on building achievable goals. Just remember, it is not about absolute perfection, but imperfect consistency.
